Suddenly, it all makes sense.

For the non-lawyers and all those who slept through latin class out there, res ipsa loquitur means ‘the thing speaks for itself’. I thought it meant, ‘the jury was drunk’ because you see it used in cases where the judge hears the jury’s decision and then throws it out. They can you know, in cases were the evidence is so obvious but the jury is drunk or the jury goes rogue and fails to follow the judge’s instructions. Most judges I know are loath to do that. This is why the ‘he had it comin” defense is still effective in some parts of Texas. But I digress.

I was so lost but now even I am found. I have seen the glimmer of sunlight through the trees. It’s still dark out so that must mean that that sunlight isn’t sunlight, it’s the light given off by the “Fireball of Mass Financial Destruction”.
