President Obama, No One in Arizona is Laughing…From Governor Brewer…

Posted on June 28, 2010 by rockingjude

Governor Jan Brewer sparked a national debate on border security and illegal immigration

when she signed SB1070. While Brewer has been celebrated by many for taking action

to enforce laws that Washington has long ignored, those who oppose the law have

chosen pithy punch lines over aggressive action. Far away from the border at the

White House Correspondents Dinner, President Obama decided that Arizonas unsecured

borders and illegal immigration crisis are a laughing matter. Unfortunately, no one in

Arizona is laughing. www.JanBrewer.com

I hope that every American, regardless of where he lives, will stop and examine his conscience about this and other related incidents. This Nation was founded by men of many nations and backgrounds. It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened. All of us ought to have the right to be treated as he would wish to be treated, as one would wish his children to be treated, but this is not the case.

I know the proponents of this law say that the majority approves of this law, but the majority is not always right. Would women or non-whites have the vote if we listen to the majority of the day, would the non-whites have equal rights (and equal access to churches, housing, restaurants, hotels, retail stores, schools, colleges and yes water fountains) if we listen to the majority of the day? We all know the answer, a resounding, NO!

Today we are committed to a worldwide struggle to promote and protect the rights of all who wish to be free. In a time of domestic crisis men of good will and generosity should be able to unite regardless of party or politics and do what is right, not what is just popular with the majority. Some men comprehend discrimination by never have experiencing it in their lives, but the majority will only understand after it happens to them.

The White House Press Corespondents Diner is an event where the president gets up and gives a non-political, very satirical and funny speech. You can find footage of every president poking fun at himself and his administration at this annual event. Subjects that the press has been particularly harsh about tend to be good topics for a little humor.

It’s irresponsible to take two sentences from this speech and show it as a representation of the presidents true stance on immigration law. This is false political propaganda.

I’m sorry but I disagree…Since the founding of America…Most all immigrants were brought through Ellis Island…They made certain pledges when they entered the United States….We can’t go back in history and fix how slavery began and the slaves were brought in against their free will and enslaved here…There is no comparison to these two separate issues…Later this was rectified although as a woman I know that there is still discrimination everywhere in the world against almost anything one can name….
People coming in to the United States are agreeing to BECOME a PART of the United States and that means upholding our laws[she says holding her sides], exchanging their countries flag for the American Flag, and making certain changes such as learning our language… The men and women who fought during WWll were from every nation, race, color, and creed…They did not carry over the Japanese, German, Mexican or whatever nation’s flag…They wore the American Uniform and carried the American Flag…and they spoke English… They fought for america, died for America and also PAID American Taxes…These taxes then paid for their later retirement etc….They were able to still have communities but were Now Americans…All we ask is that one enter the country legally, and pay taxes…Right now many of us in certain tax brackets are paying for illegal immigrants to live, eat, and hospital care when not even our own indigent Americans are taken care of…

President Obama has certainly made himself clear on this issue as in effect closing off over 35 miles of the INTERIOR of Arizona telling Americans that it is unsafe to enter!!!..This is a management versus labor issue and always has been… Management wants cheap labor and will do anything it can to get/ it…

Thus outsourcing…and where did that get us… As far as I’m concerned at the moment we are all slaves to the elitist who run the world and this Nation…but that’s another story…
