Chicken Nuggets Are Made From This Pink Goop…as an anti-fast food advocate, I present you with this…

This is mechanically separated chicken. Chickens are turned into this goop so we can create delicious chicken nuggets and juicy chicken patties. It’s obscenely gross and borderline alien but it’s not going to stop me from eating nuggets. They’re too good.
The process works a little something like this:
There’s more: because it’s crawling with bacteria, it will be washed with ammonia, soaked in it, actually. Then, because it tastes gross, it will be reflavored artificially. Then, because it is weirdly pink, it will be dyed with artificial color.
Yeah, that’s just disgusting. But I can’t shake my roots. I’m a chicken nugget fan (and all around fat food guy) for life. [Early Onset of the Night via BuzzFeed]

Oh God! Our kids are being fed this crap at school. School lunches are among the scariest meals ever. Talk about using humans as lab rats!!
If we tried to send the crap we give our school kids overseas to starving nations they’d shame us world wide.
They won’t take our GMO crap either.
GMOs need to be labeled clearly as does this goop.
Hopefully we’ll elect over the next few elections, some reps, senators & pres. who will tell the EPA to sit down & shut up and we can get this country’s farms, ranches & oil fields back in production.
God Bless!!
Zemanta,
Yes — it’s true. Poultry is sometimes mechanically separated and when it is, the resulting product is called mechanically separated poultry (MSP). It is NOT true, however, that this is how chicken nuggets are commonly made. The vast majority do not contain MSP. Nuggets are usually made from pieces of white meat and sometimes from a combination of white and dark meat.
Some processed meat products, like hot dogs and lunch meat, do contain MSP and this is stated on the ingredient label by law. This process is regulated and inspected by USDA, and if used, is included in the ingredient statement.
Even Snopes.com has an entry about the claims in this piece. Anyone who took the time to read this post should also visit http://bit.ly/b7zg2t and http://bit.ly/cSALAM for the facts.
Using technologies like this helps prevent the waste food, plain and simple. It is just a more technological and economical way of cutting the remaining chicken meat off of the bone.
I ask that you update your post, instead of fueling a viral internet rumor without checking the facts.
