The Two-Party System Doesn’t Exist. There’s Only One Political Party – Ron Paul
The two political parties are both owned by the same ruling class. This is why they do not differ for those concerns which matter most to the public. – Image courtesy of netrightdaily.com.
Take the analogy of only two phone companies or two oil companies serving America. In almost no time they would secretly form a trust (this is illegal) and their prices and fees would sky rocket as if only a single company existed. Their quality control would probably regress all the while having a callous disregard for simple customer support for most services. This is not unlike the two-party system of the American government which is a conduit for corporatism.
When people say that both parties are exactly the same they mean within the context of those public policies which matter most.
Please consider the following 15 points where I attempt to prove, and I do think I succeed, that there is no difference between the two candidates running for president who are represented by the two parties for those concerns which are of a most pressing nature:
One candidate signed the NDAA 2012 which “legalizes” martial law and indefinite detention of innocent American citizens simply for peacefully protesting. The other candidate supports this.
One candidate signed a four-year extension of the Patriot Act which can imprison American citizens indefinitely with no trial. The other candidate supports this.
One candidate supports the assassination of American citizens suspected of participating in subversive activities. The other candidate likely supports this.
One candidate has broken his promise and kept Gitmo concentration camp open which also practices torture. The other candidate supports this.
The TSA has grown to include train stations under one candidate. The other candidate likely supports this.
One candidate maintains his support of Israel’s foreign policies for the United States. The other candidate supports this.
One candidate maintains his support of the war of aggression in Afghanistan. The other candidate supports this.
One candidate ignores the Federal Reserve. The other candidate also ignores this.
One candidate has done nothing to prevent another Wall Street meltdown. The other candidate ignores this.
One candidate supports open borders and legalizing illegal aliens. The other candidate likely supports this.
One candidate supports limiting our liberties and increasing surveillance of innocent American citizens. The other candidate supports this.
One candidate agrees that any citizens who rise up to the abuses by government are enemies of the state or terrorists. The other candidate agrees with this.
The building of FEMA concentration camps are in full force under one candidate. The other candidate likely supports this.
One candidate has secretly met with the Bilderberg Group. It is also highly likely that the other candidate has or will secretly meet with the Bilderbergs.
Both parties are owned by the same ruling class (especially Wall Street) through campaign financing, political favors, and lobbying.
Yes those fascist provisions of the NDAA 2012 were nullified by the Supreme Court but what does it say about our legislators who were elected to represent our best interests? When we look at the bigger picture we find that all our petty concerns such as gay rights, stem-cell research funding, health care, the deficit, even taxation, etc. are just a smoke screen to hide those things that are guaranteed to weigh heavily on us as free citizens.
There is no real difference between the two candidates. Both represent the interests of the ruling class who must keep us under strict obedience to the state so that they may maintain their control.

It might as well be a monopoly because these two parties now do a lot of horse trading to support each others bills. The election of a new president changes nothing if we vote in a candidate from one of the two political parties because both are financed and in collusion with the bank cartel of American, European finance corporations, the military industrial complex, and the ruling class. This was most noticeable after the assassination of our last true great president – John F. Kennedy. Instead of returning the troops home from Vietnam like President Kennedy had intended on doing, President Johnson greatly expanded American involvement.
This benefits the corporations whose business is war. This also benefits the banks who own huge shares in these companies and fund this war through government deficit spending and borrowing. Those who stand to make money on war have a controlling interest in the American government through lobbying, campaign financing, future lucrative job offers to politicians, gerrymandering, and a central bank (Federal Reserve).
This happens because we believe the patriotic and mass media propaganda and misinformation we are overwhelmed with every single day of our lives. We do not question information from authority figures and we prefer to lazily watch entertaining television programs or play video games. The result of this is that we continually support the two parties who betray our trust and allow lobbyists to hijack our representation. They may appear to be opposed however they work closely together to secure whatever wealth and liberty we have remaining even if this means drafting our adult children into a false war to fight for our freedom or a foreign state’s liberty.
A federal or state government populated with several more political parties and independent representatives would have far more difficulty serving its own agenda because of all the opposition between them. Most would be on their best behavior so that they could also obtain a controlling representation in government. Once any party obtained this power they might also fall from grace.
Most politicians probably begin their political career with good intentions however somewhere along the way they are seduced by money and power. This is unavoidable regardless of party and initial good intentions. All governments in history have evolved or will evolve into fascism because of this is very predictable trait. It is important to note that a dictatorship and a monarchy are a form of fascism because the government is controlled by a single family acting as one and it is in their best interest to control the population through that government much like corporations control a government to serve their own interests.
For democracy to exist we must have a continuous cycle of replenishing new representatives. This is why some elected offices have term limits. Perhaps there should also be term limits for political parties. Instead we allow a stalemate of the Republican and Democratic parties to represent us at all levels of government. One may also notice that among some politicians there is a revolving door between the two parties or between serving the state and serving corporations. They throw their hat in whatever party they believe will give them the best chance at winning an election. One striking example between serving the state and running a corporations is Dick Cheney. He served in congress, the White House, and the Pentagon before moving on as Chief Executive Officer of Halliburton and returning as Vice President. Cheney’s Law is PBS Frontline episode is on how during the Bush administration Dick Cheney succeeded as a very secretive hands on player to enhance presidential powers to detain, render, interrogate, and wiretap.
Why perpetuate the same old habits if any policy changes are always negative? There will always be groups of unethical and dangerous individuals who are highly motivated to secure this power. No one said democracy was free, easy, and static. As soon as we shed our ideological labels and indoctrinated propaganda we find that in full frontal view of the naked truth we are all united in the same mission of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.
If what we really want is a free nation, we must do everything in our power to urge all Americans to vote for Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson. He is the only viable option who intends on representing the best interests of the American public. Or at the very least do not support any of the two-party candidates — vote third party or independent.

I need to stress three points about this article. Please recognize that it is an editorial and an analysis of current affairs. This means you will not see referenced citations for all points discussed because most facts are well established in the historical record and therefore not in dispute. However, plentiful links and embedded videos by credible and independent sources are provided that inspired some of the content and analysis.
The purpose of this article is not to repeat the facts and news stories of other texts and articles. The intent is to illustrate the true nature of the United States government by using freely available information to connect the dots in a way that may not have been considered before.
Abstract II: Defining Fascism
The new face of fascism isn’t necessarily white anymore. It may come in different flavors however it is still served in the similar cold dish of collectivism with the main course a government by the people for the government for the corporation. Secondly, what is fascism? Although I may have difficulty defining it I know it when I see it. However it is always best to begin with the dictionary definition to determine if it reflects what we are seeing today. Dictionary.com defines fascism as:
(sometimes initial capital letter) a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.
This of course is the traditional meaning of fascism as racism does not play a key role in American fascism. Moreover, the dictator is not a single person but a group of elite or ruling class despots all working together for their own interests. The primary element of any fascist state is collectivism. It places a higher value on the concerns of the group over the rights of the individual. Thus the needs or even life of any single human being or all people of any smaller group can be sacrificed for the greater good. However, this term is really just a misnomer because it is almost solely applied by those who drive public policy to serve their own hidden illicit agendas.
Thus American fascism is rooted in the trading of other people’s wealth and liberty by those in power in exchange for personal gain and it is done without the consent or knowledge of those being compromised. A paraphrase from the Gettysburg Address nicely packages democracy (and freedom) – a government by the people for the people. With traditional fascism we have a government by the people for the government. With contemporary American fascism government becomes a conduit for a third party – a government by the people for the government for the corporation.
Congressman Ron Paul (R-Tx) describes American fascism as soft fascism. This is also known as corporatism. This means fascism is a spectrum with the most extreme form being that of Benito Mussolini’s Italy, Hitler’s Germany, or Stalin’s Soviet Union.
To prove that the United States reflects many traits of traditional fascism this article will reveal how all people are manipulated with questionable principles to support public policies that are harmful to society; demonstrate how our elected leaders are eroding our civil rights; disclose how the government is managed by an elite class of despots through corporatism, other private interests such as labor unions, and because of foreign interests such as the Israel lobby (AIPAC) and European banks; and advance why democracy is very limited to anemic representation in Washington and other levels of government.
Others have taken a point by point approach and these also inspired my analysis. These are very good for a quick overview but they do not examine how the collective mind of the public is systematically shaped to support public policies that lean toward fascism.

The NATO powers and the bureaucrats they installed in Libya want you to think that all 5.6 million Libyans are happy that NATO and its proxy terrorists destroyed Libya, whose standard of living had been Africa’s highest under Gaddafi.
They want you to think that NATO brought “freedom and democracy” to Libya, not chaos and death.
They want you to think that there is no Green Resistance to the NATO imperialists or NATO’s Islamist allies in Benghazi.
In reality, the Resistance has been increasingly active since shortly after the murder of Muammar Gaddafi in October 2011, as will be shown below. They strike any NATO target they can, and they execute key Libyans who betrayed Gaddafi and sided with NATO. The Benghazi incident was merely their latest blow against what they see as NATO’s illegal occupation of their country.
Everyone in Libya knows about the Green Resistance, whose members are called “Tahloob” (Arabic for “Gaddafi loyalists”). The denial only happens outside of Libya, by the NATO powers and their dutiful Western mainstream media.
Because of this denial, and because most of the world’s people have forgotten about Libya, the internet is filled with blind guesses, unfounded claims, and ridiculous counterclaims regarding the Benghazi incident last week in which US Ambassador Christopher Stevens and at least three other American personnel were killed. And the NATO lie factory is operating at full blast.
CLAMS, COUNTER-CLAIMS AND DISINFORMATION
The Obama regime says “protesters” irate over an anti-Islam video did it.
The NATO-installed bureaucrats in Libya say that “foreign extremists” did it.
US Congressmen say “Al Qaeda did it”. So does CNN, plus disinformation web sites like Alex Jones’ Prison Planet, which denounces any reference to the Green Resistance as “absurd”. (1)
Media outlets, such as the UK Guardian, say “an organized terror network did it”.
Turkey’s government says “Syria’s Assad did it”.
Israel says “Hezbollah did it”.
The Sunni monarchs of the Gulf Cooperation Council oil sheikdoms say “Iran did it”.
Even reputable alternative media writers and progressive bloggers have attributed the attack to “the Benghazi Islamists”, and that this is “blowback from imperialism”.
Wikileaks says the attack happened because the US had backed Britain’s threat to storm the Ecuadorian embassy in London and remove Julian Assange. (2)
Some media outlets claim that “Al Qaeda” carried out the attack in revenge for the supposed death in Pakistan (by US drone strike on 4 June 2012) of Libyan-born Abu Yahya Al Libi (aka Hassan Mohammed Qaid) who was supposedly a key aide to Osama bin Laden, and was supposedly the “number two man” in Al Qaeda.
This claim is nonsense, since Al Qaeda has been a group of mercenaries employed by Washington and London since 1980. President Reagan called them “heroes” and “freedom fighters”. The US and Britain sends its Al Qaeda mercenaries to the Balkans, Libya, Syria, Chechnya, Somalia, Sudan, and other places that NATO wants to infiltrate, destroy or destabilize.

On February 26, 1993, a gray snowy day in Manhattan like the one I write on 14 years later, the FBI and US government failed to stop the van-bomb explosion in the World Trade Center’s basement garage, just as NORAD and the US government failed to stop the airliner blitz on the Twin Towers and Pentagon on September 11, 2001.
I remember crowds fleeing from the Towers in ’93, choking with smoke, exhaustion, and disbelief. But as James Bovard points out in FBI Blunders and the First World Trade Center Bombing, events that led to that infamy started years earlier.
On November 5, 1990, Rabbi Meir Kahane was giving a predictably anti-Arab speech at a New York hotel. Kahane had founded the radical Jewish Defense League (JDL), which passionately preached expelling all Arabs from Israel and the “occupied territories” by force. The Knesset, Israel’s Parliament, actually banned Kahane’s political party for “inciting racism” and “endangering security,” which indeed it was doing.
TOKYO—In its biggest and boldest overseas acquisition by far, Japanese advertising giant Dentsu Inc. 4324.TO -0.95% said Thursday it had agreed to buy U.K. media firmAegis GroupAGS.LN +45.07% PLC for about $5 billion, as it seeks to expand into more dynamic economies than its sluggish home market, where it books the vast majority of its revenue.

Japan is seeing its biggest-ever surge in outbound mergers and acquisitions as the country’s companies buy businesses abroad. See major acquisitions since 1985.
But the iconic firm, which boasts an array of Japanese blue-chip clients, faces a major challenge in making the transition from being primarily a domestic powerhouse to an international one. Dentsu will have to bolt its distinctively Japanese corporate culture onto that of Aegis, which is already much more geographically diversified.
Emphasizing the depth of Dentsu’s pockets, the company said it will pay 240 pence ($3.72) for each Aegis share, a premium of 48% to Wednesday’s closing price of 162.2 pence. The deal values Aegis at £3.16 billion. Dentsu said it has already purchased or had irrevocable undertakings for about 30% of Aegis’s stock, mainly through French businessman Vincent Bolloré, the group’s largest shareholder, who will receive £535 million for an initial 15% stake.
Even with this deal—the second-largest overseas acquisition by a Japanese company this year so far, according to data provider Dealogic—Dentsu says it will still fail to break into the advertising world’s top three: U.K.-based WPPWPP.LN +0.13% PLC, U.S. giant Omnicom GroupOMC +0.60% and France’s Publicis Groupe SA, PUB.FR +1.47%according to industry publication Advertising Age. Dentsu says that combined with Aegis, it will rank fifth, behind fourth-placed Interpublic Group of CosIPG +0.91% . of the U.S.
The deal comes as cross-border mergers and acquisitions by Japanese firms are running at record levels, for the same reasons behind Dentsu’s move. Dealogic rates the deal as the second-biggest deal globally on record in an industry where jostling for position is often fierce, with successful boutique firms rapidly swallowed up.

A federal judge on Wednesday refused to block a unique, antenna-based subscription service that enables the streaming of broadcast television to any internet-enabled device.
NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, Fox and others sued Aereo, a $12 monthly subscription service that went live in New York in March. The suit claims that the upstart, backed by media mogul Barry Diller, has failed to acquire licenses from the networks who deliver their broadcasts over the air. They claimed the redistribution of the material, without a license, infringed their copyrights because it amounted to Aereo briefly buffering or copying the broadcast and “facilitating” a public performance without permission.
The case was being closely watched as many believed it could shape the manner and method by which people watch television in the future, and perhaps provide an early answer to the question of whether online television would be controlled by a stodgy industry that once shunned the VCR, or whether third-party innovators embracing technological advances have a chance to build on the openness of the public airwaves. The outcome could have ramifications in a different copyright infringement case the broadcasters brought against Dish Network, which recently unveiled a service that allows the automatic skipping of commercials.
Aereo’s New York customers basically rent two tiny antennas, each about the size of a dime. Tens of thousands of the antennas are housed in a Brooklyn data center. One antenna — unique to a customer — is used when a customer wants to watch a program in real time from a computer, tablet or mobile phone. The other works with a DVR service to record programs for later online viewing.
U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan said there were no copyright violations, and refused to shutter the service.
“Aereo’s antennas thus reinforce the significance of the copies its system creates and aid the court in finding that Aero does not create mere facilitating copies,” the judge wrote. While the ruling technically only rejects a preliminary injunction, the tone of the ruling makes clear that the broadcasters will, in all likelihood, lose the case if they choose to continue litigating against the upstart.
The broadcasters said in their suit that “no amount of technological gimmickry by Aereo — or claims that it is simply providing a set of sophisticated ‘rabbit ears’ — changes the fundamental principle of copyright law that those who wish to retransmit plaintiffs’ broadcasts may do so only with plaintiffs’ authority.”
The court, evidently, thought otherwise.
Chet Kanojia, Aereo’s chief executive, said “We said from the start that we believed that full and fair airing of the issues would reveal that Aereo’s groundbreaking technology falls squarely within the law.”
